| dc.description.abstract | TEZ ÖZETİ \r\n“Looking Backward 2000-1887, News From Nowhere ve A Modern Utopia \r\nAdlı Eserler Üzerine Marksist Bir Eleştiri” adlı bu çalışmada adı geçen romanlar \r\nMarksist Görüş bağlamında incelenmiştir. Her üç bölümde de romanların kuramla \r\nbağdaştığı ve ters düştüğü noktalar birbirinden ayrı kısımlarda değerlendirilmiştir. \r\n Birinci bölümde Edward Bellamy‟nin Looking Backward 2000-1887 (1888) \r\nisimli romanı Marksizm çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Kuram incelemesi \r\n“benzerlikler” ve “farklılıklar” olmak üzere iki farklı kısımda değerlendirilmiştir. \r\nBirinci kısımda, roman özel mülkiyet, miras, sömürü, din, toplumsal evrim, sınıf \r\nayrımı, komünist düzen ve kapitalist karmaşa, devlet, işgücü, sınıf sistemi ve eşitlik, \r\nbireysellik, aile kurumu ve gelişim kavramları çerçevesi içerisinde incelenmiş ve bu \r\naçılardan Marksist Kuramla örtüşen noktaları olduğu örneklerle saptanmıştır. İkinci \r\nkısımda, roman din, evrim, toplumsal sınıf, milliyetçilik ve aile kavramları açısından \r\nincelenmiş ve bu açılardan Marksist Kuramla örtüşmeyen noktaları olduğu örneklerle \r\nifade edilmiştir. \r\nİkinci bölümde ise William Morris‟in News From Nowhere (1890) adlı \r\nromanı Marksizm ışığında incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme de, yine “benzerlikler” ve \r\n“farklılıklar” olarak iki kısıma ayrılmıştır. Birinci kısımda, medeniyet, teknoloji ve \r\nmakineleşme, sömürü, yabancılaşma, sınıf ayrımı, köy ve kent, ücret, iş gücü, estetik, \r\nözel mülkiyet, devlet, eğitim, milliyetçilik ve evrim-devrim kavramları incelenmiş ve \r\nbu kavramlar ışığında Marksist Görüşle ne bakımdan örtüştüğü örneklerle tespit \r\nedilmiştir. İkinci kısımda ise, din, aile ve evlilik kavramları ele alınmış ve hangi \r\naçılardan kurama ters düştüğü örneklemelerle anlatılmıştır. . 114 \r\n \r\nÜçüncü bölümde de, Herbert George Wells‟in A Modern Utopia (1905) isimli \r\nromanı yine Marksizm çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Bu bölümdeki inceleme de, \r\n“benzerlikler” ve “farklılıklar” olarak iki ayrı kısımda değerlendirilmiştir. Birinci \r\nkısımda, toplumsal evrim kavramı ışığında kapitalist ve komünist birey, devrim, özel \r\nmülkiyet, aile, din ve devlet kavramları incelenmiş ve yazarın fikirlerinin bu \r\nkavramlar çerçevesinde kuramla nasıl örtüştüğü örneklerle açıklanmıştır. İkinci \r\nkısımda da, toplumsal sınıf ve eşitlik, devrim, özel mülkiyet, aile ve devlet \r\nkavramları değerlendirilmiş ve kuramla ters düştüğü noktalar örneklerle \r\nbelirtilmiştir. \r\nHer üç bölümde de saptamalar öncelikle yazarın biyografisi, günlükleri, \r\ndenemeleri ve romanın kendisi olmak üzere birincil kaynakların ışığında yapılmıştır. \r\nAyrıca Karl Marks‟ın eserleri de görüşlerini net bir şekilde yansıtmak adına birincil \r\nkaynak olarak değerlendirilmiş ve alıntılanmıştır. İkincil kaynak olabilecek farklı \r\neleştirmenlerin görüşleri de eklenmiştir. Her üç yazarın da içinde yaşamış olduğu \r\ntarihsel ve ekonomik koşullar da değerlendirilmiş, bu koşullardan hareketle \r\neserlerinde yansıttıkları kapitalist koşullar ve kurgulanan ideal düzen Marksist Görüş \r\nışığında değerlendirilmiştir. Bu değerlendirmenin sonucunda da, üç yazarın \r\ngörüşlerinin de, kuramla birçok açıdan örtüştüğü gibi, birçok açıdan da ters düştüğü \r\nsonucuna varılmıştır. . \r\n \r\nABSTRACT \r\nThis dissertation, entitled “A study of Marxist Criticism in Looking Backward \r\n2000-1887, News From Nowhere and A Modern Utopia” investigates the the novels \r\nin the light of Marxism. In all three chapters, the points which have similarities to \r\nand differences from the theory are studied in seperate parts. \r\nIn Chapter One, Edward Bellamy‟s Looking Backward 2000-1887 (1888) is \r\ninvestigated in the light of Marxism. This chapter is divided into two parts as \r\n“similarities” and “differences”. In the first part, it is argued that the novel has \r\nsimilarities with the theory in accordance with the concepts such as private property, \r\ninheritance, exploitation, religion, class system and equality, individualism, family \r\nand progress. In the second part, it is also argued that the novel has differences from \r\nthe theory in terms of the concepts such as religion, evolution, class, nationalism and \r\nfamily. \r\nIn Chapter Two, William Morris‟s News From Nowhere (1890) is also \r\nstudied within the context of Marxism. This chapter is also divided into two parts as \r\n“similarities” and “differences”. In the first part, it is suggested that the novel has \r\nsimilarities with the theory in terms of the concepts such as civilisation, technology \r\nand mechanization, exploitation, alienation, class distinction, city and country, wage, \r\nlabour, aesthetics, private property, state, education, nationalism and evolution-\r\nrevolution. And in the second part, it is suggested that the novel has differences from \r\nthe theory in terms of the concepts such as religion, family and marriage. \r\nIn Chapter Three, Herbert George Wells‟s A Modern Utopia (1905) is \r\ninvestigated in the light of Marxism. In this chapter, there are also two parts as 116 \r\n \r\n“similarities” and “differences”. In the first part, it is argued that the novel has \r\nsimilarities with the theory in accordance with the concepts such as capitalist and \r\ncommunist individual within the context of social evolution, capitalist symbol, \r\nrevolution, private property, family, religion and state. In the second part, it is argued \r\nthat the novel also has differences from the theory in the light of the concepts such as \r\nsocial class and equality, revolution, private property, family and state. \r\nIn each chapter, conclusions are drawn after consultation of primary sources \r\nsuch as the novels themselves and the biographies, articles and diaries of the writers. \r\nIn addition, the works of Karl Marks are also consulted and quoted as primary \r\nsources in order to enlighten his ideas in the dissertation. The ideas of different \r\ncritics are also added as secondary sources. The authors‟ contemporary society with \r\nits historical and economic conditions is also taken into consideration while \r\nanalyzing, and under these conditions the capitalist system and the fictionalized ideal \r\norder they reflected are studied within the context of Marxism. As a conclusion of \r\nthis study, it was concluded that the ideas of these three writers have not only a lot in \r\ncommon with Marksism, they also have lots of difference.\r\n | |
