Abstract

Ih broiler growing, most of the expenses comes from feed cost. Many studies has been done in order to find a cheap source ofenergy supplement instead of animal fat (A.F.) in broiler ration- This research was conducted to determine the value of acidulated soya been soap stock (A.S.S) as an alternative energy source in substitute of animal fat in broiler diete. The composition charactaristics «f A.S.S and A.F. were found as follows respectively: 8435 kcal/kg and 8475 kcal/kg M.E«, ether insoulable fraction 0.40 # and 0.89 f° soaponf icat ion number 3.13 f° and 2.12 #, free fatty acids 93.4 1° and 3.8 $, acid number 47.85/g and 5.2/g, peroxide number 28.97/g and 18.50/g, iodine number 67.42/g and 32.26/g unsaturated fattyacids 76.6 and 56.7 #, The animals inthe control group were given a ration con taining 6 fo A.F., in the other diets A.S.S was used at the levels of 1.5$, 3 1°t 4.5 # and 6$ instead of A.F. in the same amounts of A.F. respectively. All the other in»gredients used in the diets were the same kind and levels. (includi$ij control diet) The experimental diets contained 23.13 f°, 23.42 $, 23.14 $> 23.21 İ* and 23.32 fo crude protein; and 3044, 3014, 3108, 3087 and 3087 kcal/kg M,F. respectively. Research conducted with 1000 commercial day old broiler chicks, were allocated rondomly to 4 replications in 5 gruops, and fed with control and other diets during 8 week period. The animals fed the ration that contained 3 İ° A, S. S. and more, gave significantly lowest live weight gain during first three week. After words these differences becameless significant gradually and at the end of 8 th week, the mean live weight gain were, 1821 g, 1881 g, 1814 g, 1820 g and 1796 g in groups respectively.- m~ Differences among the gruops were not significant statisticly (P>0.05). Total mean live weight in the gruops were respectively 1859,g^91919 g, 1852 g, 1859 g and 1827 g. Total mean ffeed consumption by the groups at the and of 8 weeks were 4951 g, 499.9 g, 4854 g, 4784 g, 4784 g and 4346 g respectively. According' these figures, the animals in the 5 th gruop consumed significantyy less feed than the animals from the other groups (P 4^0. 01), and the animals in 4 th group con sumed significantlyless feed than the animals from the 2 nd group (P^.05). At the end of research period, the feed conversion of the groups were 2.72, 2.62, 2*67, 2.63 and 2.42 respectively. The feed conversion of 5 th group was significantly (P 4jD. 01), less than the other groups. And there were no significantly difference among the feed conversion of others grou
